Tuesday Roll Call
Good morning everyone!
I hope none of you had problems with the snow yesterday, although I heard it was worse here than down south. I drove home very very slowly but didn't have any real problems.
We have all of our plans set to go to Arkansas. We'll be gone less than a week which is just fine and Dan won't have to be alone for Christmas.
Tomorrow we are bringing food to the Woolgathering for Christmas party. I'm making a big salad so I'll have something to eat instead of being tempted by cookies which everyone else seems to be bringing! So I have to go to the grocery this afternoon and get the fixings. (I'm getting my language ready to go to Arkansas!)
Have a good day and stay warm. Tomorrow is supposed to be near 40!

Good Morning,
Connie, when are you leaving? We got no snow yesterday. I think we are to get some snow or sleet later. I am happy to be only a few blocks from home, so I don' t have to drive to far if it does .
My co worker is sick today. So it is just me and the falling snow flakes. I hope she is back tomorrow, since I want to be in the La Salle office. I want to hand out some holiday stuff and fit is the last time I will see them until after the fist of the year.
the quilt top is coming along. I have over 1/2 done. I need to pick up a couple more yards of frabric. Then I want to assemble a quilt rack, so i can hand quilt
Hugs,
We're leaving the 23rd.
I made a quilt frame out of two wooden horses and two 2x4s. I covered the 2x4s with cotton batting thickly and then staped heavy material, like pillow canvas around the batting. I basted the ends of the quilt to the wood and rolled it to about 2feet from the beginning. I could reach about that distance and after I finished the area I rolled what I had finished and un rolled the other side a bit. The quilt was a queen but the frame was as long as the width and 2ft wide. I used C clamps to hold the frame together. I was 30 when I made the quilt. Knitting is so much more portable! LOL!

Good afternoon Connie and the rest of Illinois!
I have been around, just to sore to post (if that makes sense). I Think (and hope) that I have finally turned the corner with this tooth. It is still painful but pain that is somewhat handled with Tylenol. Today is the first day without prescription meds. I am going into town for clove oil and a few other things and will look around for some Christmas presents.
I am no where near "done", but have the kids mostly taken care of, which to me, is most important. 2 weeks with severe pain took me out. I hope to get the ornaments on the tree tonight. I DID get some baking done with good friends on Sunday. As usual, I am not in the "spirit". I think that has a lot to do with me doing the brunt of the work. Oh well.......
I'd better get going! Have a good day!
Good Evening All
I am counting the days until vacation (3). I cannot wait for some well needed time off. I am certainly looking forward to it. We are so busy. We spend the day with about 30 calls on hold so as soon as we hang up from one customer, we have another. Today when I answered the phone, one customer commented "Boy that is a mouthfull to say., do you have to say that for every call" when I gave my standard greeting. Unfortunately, the answer is yes. I thought about what I say and it is a lot! I just answer by rote and don't think about it.
We still have all the nightmares of packages not getting delivered thanks to all the Christmas orders that are out there also being delivered. And of course no one thinks about ordering ahead, they wait till they need it and then they need it now! (uh, the printer runs out of ink and they have no backup) And it is OUR fault that they do not get their order immediately. It is so much fun!
I finally got my Christmas shopping completed last night and all gifts are scheduled to be delivered by the end of the week. That is a good feeling. I just have a handful of presents to wrap and that will only take an hour. No baking as Rick and I don't need the stuff. No decorations as we do not want to pick up after Buffy every 2 minutes and that is what we would be doing! She creates enough toys out of every day items without adding to the temptation. It is too funny to watch her when I print something. She loves to go after the paper as it comes out of the printer. She knows that is wrong and now she tries so hard to behave until she can no longer resist. Then she cant stand it any longer and has to after that paper!
Tonight after work, I argued with my spending account plan. They wanted receipts for the third time for the last 3 years. I finally told them I sent them twice already, the last time certified mail. They have them and they backed off. I still had some digging to do to come up with receipts for this year. But I got them all in order and will get those off to them. They are too lazy to contact the provider when they make a payment and ask for a receipt! Geesh!
Connie, I hope you have a wonderful time in Arkansas and I hope the weather holds out for you. I just read that they are keeping an eye on a major storm that is threatening for this weekend.
Lisa, I do hope you get to come to LaSalle tomorrow. It would be hard not to see everyone before the holidays.
Carla, enjoy your remaining time in Chicago. Enjoy the baby. I love all her pictures that you post on facebook!
Dawn, I truly hope you are at the end of your tooth ordeal! This has been awful. I am so lucky that this has never happened to me with all the teeth that I have had pulled. You will be more in the mood to do things when you feel better.
Everyone have a great hump day!
